Camper Remodel Update

After being a camper owner for over a month I'm finally getting some much needed supplies to actually make it livable. I'm not getting everything I wanted but I'm doing the best I can with a budget of $400. lol. So here is what I've gotten so far:

Lowe's:

45 cinder blocks - $75Plastic Dryer - $5.48(4) Utility 1/4 CAT Utility OSB, Application as 4 x 8 - $40.48Saint-Gobain ADFORS Saint Gobain Adfors Screen Wire - $13.72

Walmart:

Duck Brand Deco Adhesive Laminate - Grey Quatrefoil, 20 in. x 12 ft. - $4.97

I'm going to try to reuse as much as I can, and I already have some grey paint I bought for my house back in Charlotte, never used, so that is going to be my cabinets, and I'm going to try to pick up some white spray paint today to spray paint some of the vents and the knobs. It's just hard budgeting everything that needs to be done for not much money.

Thankfully, I WAS able to find a 10% off Lowe's coupon code so that helped greatly with these expenses and I purchased online so I could use Ebates to get cash back at a later time. :)

On Craigslist (I adore craigslist!) I was able to find a septic tank for $150, but the gentleman I spoke said he'd take $140 for it (Hey, every dollar counts with this particular revamp!)

My sister is going to let me use some of her screws and some of her Killz paint she used for her own project so I don't have to buy any of that.

What I really wanted for my camper but couldn't afford: Wallpaper, counter tops, air conditioner hood for the top of the camper, a new toilet, flooring....

Well I AM going to a couple of local Habitat Restore's today so I'm hoping I can find some super super cheap flooring and maybe a counter top...we will see though!

I will say one thing in this camper rebuild, I was super lucky in that the electricity worked. I'm not sure about the plumbing yet, but the hoses all look to be in very good condition, and I'm already going to install a new septic system simply because it would be simpler to do so. I still have to figure out a bed though.

So the OSB is the new floor in the camper as the old floor is not stable at all. The previous owners screwed down a lot of miscellaneous things in the camper so I'm going to reuse those screw as they are almost brand new. The Killz paint is going to be the primer for the paint that I pick up somewhere today, I know that Home Depot is offering $10 rebates on their Glidden paint so I'm thinking that's what I'm going to get. A gallon should do it after I Killz the crap out of the walls.

The contact paper is interesting...I can't afford new counters (unless I run up on a $10 counter today somewhere! lol) so I'm going to take my roll of Con-tact paper and cover the counter in the bathroom and the kitchen! So that they will look better. I have a cutting board so I'm not too worried about it. I have the screen to rescreen the little screen door as the previous screen door is shredded. It's cheaper to rescreen then buy a new camper door.

Like I said previously I have a brand new gallon of darker grey paint that I'm going to use on the cabinets. It should make a nice contrast with the white walls and give it a super clean look. Flooring is one thing I'm worried about.  I would only need a few  boxes of laminate flooring to do the camper but from between $15 and $20 a box it's just not available in my budget at this time. So I'm either going to PAINT it...or...I don't know.

I considered starting some type of campaign to see if folks wanted to donate to my remodel, but I just don't want to ask people for money like that and I honestly don't think anyone would donate. lol. To get everything I needed for the camper I'd need about $1000 honestly. That would do flooring, get a new toilet, rebuild the bunk for a bed larger than a twin, a new medicine cabinet, counter tops, cabinets as these have some water damage I'm choosing to ignore,  buy a burner to cook on, re-paper the bathroom and buy new lights for the entire thing, interior AND exterior, as well as fabric to cover all the windows. It would also allow me to build a small stair care or purchase one so that I don't break my neck. lol. So I'm ignoring some things, trying to cover up others and make it stable and liveable enough for me to be there.

If you have any ideas for me that cost very little or are FREE, let me know! :D
