Foam Flower - DIY (This also works for fabric and ribbons)

Here is a fun, easy tutorial on how to make foam or cloth flowers. Anyone can make these, all you need is the little foam sheets you can buy at the dollar tree, ribbon or fabric.

You start out with a little foam sheet and cut it in half so you have two pieces. This will make two flowers. If you buy the pack at the Dollar Tree you get about 8 sheets so that's enough to make 16 flowers.

The next step is to fold one of the cut sheets in half and run your glue gun down to glue one end to the other length wise.

Once it's dried, just take your scissors and every few inches make a cut. Do not cut all the way through, just cut until you hit the strip of glue.

This is what your cuts should look like, you are just making little rings.

Once you've finished, roll it up! At the end use a dab of glue to keep it in place.

This is what you will have after you glue it down. It is vaguely flower like. So now we have to fluff it.

To fluff it all you do is press in on it, pushing your petals out until it resembles the flower you want.

Here is the end result!

These are great to use on headbands, little flip flops or anything else you can think of. If you make it out of ribbon or fabric you can easily sew these on clothes. I've used them for buntings, invitations, you name it. Have fun!
