My RT Convention 20's Flapper Outfit - Plus Size Struggles

I'm a big girl. A really big girl. So when it comes to finding "costumes" that fit and look normal are very hard. I needed a Roaring 20's Flapper type costume for the RT Convention in May. There are so many beautiful options out there...if you are under a size 20. I'm not. I'm more of a size 28. As much as I try to diet, I fail. But I was able to find a few things I wanted to share!

The dress was the most important thing to me. I wanted something that covered my arms, but looked like a flapper outfit without being heavy or uncomfortable or some weird fabric. I found it in this beautiful midnight blue dress from JD Williams. I'd never heard of them before so I was exited to find a new store that catered to my size (they have a few dresses I would LOVE to have!). They had this dress in white and the blue, I chose the blue because I wanted a deep color because of my red hair. It was on sale for $26.49!! I found a coupon code that gave me about $5 dollars off and that took care of most of the shipping charges so I was very happy. I've already received it (it shipped from Europe) and it fits beautifully.

Now time for accessories. I wanted a cute flapper headband but I didn't
want feathers...those things break easily. I found THIS beautiful replica of the headband Daisy wore in the Great Gatsby movies.

Wish.com. Yes. Wish.com. I know the stuff ships from China and it takes almost a month to get here, but I couldn't resist this, it's beautiful and just what I wanted. None of my Wish items have arrived yet but I'm hoping they start showing up soon. I can't wait to see everything together. Wish also had the replica ring/bracelets, but I gust knew that would drive me crazy.  I paid $6 for it with $3 shipping.

This BEAUTIFUL sash also from wish was $3 with $2 shipping also from Wish. It's a sash that ties around the middle. I felt the dress did need a little bling, and I fell in love with this. According to the listing it should be long enough to tie around my waist. Here's hoping it's right!

And last but not least was this beautiful little stole. I loved it, it's white so it will add some 20's glamour to the outfit. I certainly hope it looks as it does in the listing. It could come looking like a rat tale. lol .If it doesn't look like this I will request a refund of course, but I hope it's as beautiful as it's supposed to be.

I've been considering getting a hand fan, the kind that folds out, I haven't found one that I like yet, and I can't afford a beaded purse, soooo....I'm not quite sure yet. lol. I haven't found shoes yet either.I already have full length gloves and a set of long pearls.

What do you think? Will I be 20's enough?
