With the spring comes a lot of rain and SPRING BREAK!! Yayyy! Well not really if you don't have an awesome vacation lined up. The kids may wind up getting stuck indoors and here in Banner Elk, we are still seeing snow days. So here is a list of current free books and activity books to keep your little ones busy on a rainy day.
The CDC website has several free books for children. Some for the younger ones and a few for the older ones. These are completely free and you can request one of each. To find them just simply select the "Books" in the drop-down section. I already have all of these. I also suggest picking up some of the little notepads for non-smoking, they are quick and easy to take along in the car and you can request up to 5 of them (These are located under OTHER). If the books are showing Out of Stock just keep checking back they come in and go out quickly. At the time that I wrote this, they had 4 of the Eagle Book series for older kids in stock. Also nice to see is some are available in English AND Spanish.
Free Fire Safety Materials from FEMA for children. This has an activity book you can order as well as a fold up firetruck which is super cute!
Free Donkey Ollie DVD. You will get 15 of these little DVDs, but they are super cute and religious so be aware of that.
Practical Money Skills has some awesome CDs you can get to teach children about money. They also have some adorable Avengers comic books but those are sold out, so keep a watch on those to come back in stock.
Smokey the Bear has several printable pages with activities as well. What I love about this is you can actually print them in color OR black and white to save on ink. Super cute activities and the kids will love them.
Free LEGO magazine. Now this super fun. The magazine is full of stories, activities and every magazine you receive has a new pull out poster for your kid to hang on their wall. Super fun, super free!
A free Derek the Dinosaur's Coloring Book About LEAD from the state of Delaware. I just ordered this as well so hoping this does arrive!
The Watermelon Board has all kind of freebies! From coloring books to recipe cards and stickers you can easily fill your cart with free items that will keep the kids busy and may actually help them learn a thing or 2! This site lets you get multiple of everything. Some the least amount you can order is 5 so just be prepared to hand out watermelon recipes for Halloween. lol. Now this one may or may not come because of so many people requesting they may reject it, but it is worth the shot. The stickers are adorable.
Here is another one that is up to the parent. I personally don't like their freebies much because a lot of them are very graphic, but Peta Kids has free stickers right now you can get, they are cute and have some Animal support messages on them. There is also a free magazine you can get too, but take my advice and flip through it before you hand it to your child or be prepared for some hard questions.
Free coloring pages from Disney's Frozen! You print them out though, but too cute to have on hand for either a rainy day OR a road trip!
A free downloadable coloring book from FDNY, omg this is so cute! This is several pages long and has activities and coloring pages for your little ones to do.
