Today's the day! I start my new job at Amazon this evening at 5pm. The schedule is a little crazy but it's training day for me! I will be working from 5pm until 2am Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday. I will be off Thursday through Sunday. I like that. lol.
So what is going to happen next?
I have no clue! All I really know is that this a part-time "flex" position meaning at certain times of the year I will be working full time. I hear I have amazing benefits as a part-time employee.
My Amazon laptop arrived a few days ago and I purchased a CAT6 cable with some Survey Amazon money I had from Branded surveys. I have everything set up except the laptop. The instructions don't want me to do anything at all until 5pm today so I all I did was open the box and take out the paperwork.
I spent most of yesterday making my workstation. We have 4 children aged 4 and under in the house so I need to be in the quietest part of the home I can find. And that...is in a closet. lol. Yes, my workspace is set up in a walk-in closet so I will have 2 doors between me and the kids which will filter out almost all noise.
I made my little space as cute as I possibly could. I didn't have
a traditional desk, I will need to purchase one with my first paycheck, but what I did was take a table leaf to our dining room table and plop it onto two little plastic drawer bins. This was a great height and worked out well in the closet. Not too big ag all. I put out some decorations and some of my little desktop items I purchased from Hollar last year. (I think I paid $1.00 for the Magazine holder and .50 for the pen cup.) I also used one of my little Shutterfly coasters and a Bob Ross calendar I had made back during my huge Christmas ordering season.
It's not fancy, but it's comfy and I like it. This will of course move to the tiny house once it's delivered. That way I can ensure queit. I may not be able ot live in it yet, but I can work in it.
I'm super excited for today!! Thank you to everyone who gave me well wishes and prayers for both my job and my tiny house. That means so much to me. And a special thanks to Steve as he was very kind and helped me out of a tight spot.
Have a good day everyone!!
