So I hate the photo of the invitations and made sure I shot a few better photos before we popped them in the mail. You are going to see a lot of blank spaces that's the directions to my house soooo, sorry readers, I love you and all but really don't want strangers knowing where I live. lol. Let me know what you think!

TGIF!
I have literally SO MUCH to do this weekend. I have chairs to paint, a living room to begin decorating for the Barbie Party! I am STILL working on the purses but the Invitations have been MAILED better late than never right?
10 girls total (Including me!)
Not the best photo but here you go! This is the invitation that we made for all the girls, the pink and the yellow pulls out. The pink is the invitation, the yellow is directions. I know the photo is bad!

The Cupcake Caper
I've decided to have 3 different flavors of cupcake at the upcoming bachelorette party, so last night my sister and I dove headlong into creating a unique cupcake. The Cosmopolitan Cupcake. Yes, you heard me right. Cosmo Cupcakes.
I got the original recipe here: Cosmo Cupcake
While working through the recipe I noticed a few things.
1. The recipe calls for Butter Milk but never actually tells you to use it. My cakes turned out perfect without it so it's unnecessary.
2. The "Cosmo Glaze" was annoying and I ditched it. Still cakes were great.
3. I did NOT like the Cosmo Buttercream. The more Cosmopolitan I added the more I hated it, so I took my lime they had me zest, poked a hole in it and squeezed what juice I could into the mix, however because the lime juice is apparently wetter (I have no clue WHY!) I had to add 2 extra cups of powdered sugar to thicken it back up, I placed the icing in the fridge for at least 2 hours so that it would remain thick for frosting the cakes.
These were actually pretty good, and the icing was divine! (After I ditched the Cosmo). I added a pink sugar sprinkles to mimic rimming the glass and it was perfect. I will definitely get a picture for you guys today. My camera batteries were deader than a doornail.
Anyway, If you see a recipe you like then go for it, but just keep in mind that sometimes if its not to you liking you CAN change it, the world won't end if you don't follow the recipe exactly (Unless you are doing Fudge, trust me Fudge does NOT want to work if you divvy from the actual recipe).

Barbie Bachelorette: The Plans
I have been hard at work coming up with a fantastic way to have a hip, modern bachelorette party minus the male members. (You know what I'm talking about!) Anyway we decided to do it up Barbie style as I posted a few weeks back. We don't want it to be a kids party but a take on Barbie as a woman. Come on now she had Ken AND G.I. Joe.
So here we go. When you walk into my house you are going to see a red carpet and on the back wall where you would turn to go into the formal living room (a.k.a Barbie's Lounge) the whole wall will be papered in pink with Barbie written up and down it, kind of like this:
This was taken at Barbie's 50th Anniversary party, our backdrop will be Pink with the Barbie in Black. Heidi Klum will not be present. And my "red carpet" is going to actually be red. lol. Purchased the red carpet at Party City for $4.99, and the Pink Paper at the Mighty Dollar for $1 a roll for 40 sq. ft. I bought 4 rolls. I will use my Cricut to cut out the Barbie with the free Barbie font I found online.
Since my living room downstairs is so big I can do different sections. I definitely want to set up the photo in the large walk in closet. There is a software you can purchase for your laptop or computer, it turns your computer into a "Photo booth". It uses a web cam to take the photos and someone will walk into your "booth" press the space bar and voila the program starts to take photos then you can immediately upload them to facebook or print them. (Program is here)
I am going to set up a formal table for dinner, a stripper pole, a Candy bar, Swag Bags! (Come on what red carpet event doesn't come with a Swag Bag?), a custom CD and a night on the town. I am going to create a vanity station where the girls can touch up their makeup. And the one thing I'm kind of proud of us the Adult Swag Bag auction. I am going to create an Adult Swag bag (something for the couple...or a single lady!) that she can purchase tickets to win and all the money of course goes towards making the brides night a success. No Bachelorette should ever have to pay for her own alcohol! And we've also cooked up a little something involving pulling tickets out of a high heel to see what girl buys her the first shot.
Just a tip Charlotte Bachelorettes, if you email a request to Dixie's Tavern here in downtown Charlotte, they will set up a small section for you at the bar and serve you Pink Shots, the section has balloons and all kind of goodies. So there you go!
Here are some Photos to show what exactly is on my mind:
This is Barbie's Suite in Vegas:
Ok, so I don't have that couch or those chairs, but I do have very similar tables and with all the Pink paper I have my walls will look just like that. I am on the search for a chandelier and also some of those wicker chairs in the background.
And I am working hard at getting the high heal center piece right, trust me this is not going to be easy, I'm going to do pink carnations instead of the cabbage roses but I will spray paint the heel silver.
If you know where I can find those big Barbie brushes please let me know! lol
I also found the recipes for the drinks that were given at the Barbie Anniversary party and those will also make an appearance along with my cupcakes. I plan on three different flavors, I'm pretty set on an Oreo inspired Cupcake, I'm toying with a Cosmo Cupcake as well as a Dreamsickle Cupcake. Another contender is also a Smore's cupcake. SO! There you go, that's what's on my mind, let me know what you think!

Sorry, Bloggers...Please accept my apologies
So I've been a little sick and a lot occupied the past week and haven't posted like I should, I'm VERY late on post 6 of The Interview, but promise to have both posted by Wednesday morning, so stay tuned!
What's been going on is..well. A lot. I'm planning a wedding reception, a bachelorette party, and last week I got a stomach bug that is about to kill me. lol. My bride chose the color of Apple. Which is really just a dark shade of red, so her colors were red, black and white. I had to force her to choose another color so we can avoid the Twilight themed wedding with apples red and black, so I threw in some turquoise and everything is looking great now.
As for the bachelorette party we are going to do a Barbie themed party featuring a DIY photo booth and a DIY stripper pole. Photo booth is way easy and shouldn't take but a few minutes time to set up, but the stripper pole worries me. I'm not quite sure how to construct this thing even though I've read the directions ten times. The picture sucks and I'm going to need cinder blocks cause some of my invites are bigger gals (So am I so if I get the urge to swing around a damn pole I want to be safe in the fact that I want it over and kill myself!) So I need pink, pink and more pink, I'm also trying to find a cute little vanity I can dress up with pink paint and stuff so it will all be like Barbie's one room paradise. Wish me luck, right? I just don't like the same old boring bachelorette party, a girl can only use so many man-Twinkies in one party, good grief.
I'm yawning and work starts early today. I want to go home already and just lay in bed for a while, a nice warm bed, they keep the air on like 30 degrees in here and I forgot my sweater today. I got to get some photos of our no budget needed outdoor makeover (full of trash finds!) I'm going to post my email address on the sidebar so if anyone has any questions or comments they can email me directly, here's hoping everyone has a fantastically happy day!
