Product Review: Tula - Tiny Face Mask

Good evening everyone! I love a good face mask. Well, my sister has a subscription to BoxyCharm and she received Tula Bright All Night Energizing Face Masks in her February box. She had four of them so she was nice enough to give one to me so I can try it out. Face masks really are amazing. With the amount of serum and essential oils you are putting on your skin for 10-20 minutes you will definitely see some results.

My skin is as dry as the Sahara. It peels. I'm not sure if it's the dry air up here in the mountains, but I have never had issues with my skin until we moved up here from Charlotte. I found my love of face masks quite by accident. I received a bunch of them on an Amazon deal (I'm talking like 100 masks). I was excited to try this Tula mask because 1: They retail for $12 each. And 2: They have amazing reviews. They boast Hyaluronic Acid, Fermented Birch Water, Probiotics and Citrus Extract and is supposed to energize my "stressed" skin.

I was disappointed and let me tell you why.

The packaging was amazing. It was in a holographic foil packet that had me excited to put the face mask on.

And the look of the mask lived up to the packing. It was a beautiful mask that had these silver dots embedded. I felt like I was about to wear a flat mirror ball. It smelled very nice. Clean. Not a perfume-y or overdone scent, but very mild. It was very, very juicy.

There was a lot of serum on this mask and I enjoy that, honestly. Dry face masks are hard to keep on my face but when they are super wet they do stay on better for the 15 minutes. I actually like keeping my masks on for 20 minutes for that additional moisture. I could not do that with this mask. I was desperate to get it off.

It fit like it was made for a child. The eyes were very close together, the nose slot was definitely weird and I was either able to see...or able to breath. It just wouldn't fit properly. If I wanted to be able to keep my eyes open then the mask covered my mouth. The mask did NOT taste good. lol. I didn't expect it to be like that. I've had a better time with a $1 mask from Walmart.

I honestly don't think someone who is afraid of closed in spaces would be able to wear this effectively. I'm okay with that but at the 10 minute mark of not being able to open my mouth or breath out of my nose properly I was feeling a mild panic .

I wish I had thought to take a photo. Doing a face mask is typically my "Me Time" and I didn't even consider it. It was just all around, NOT fun. I will probably never do another Tula mask.

My face did feel soft after use, but no different than any other face mask I've every tried. I don't see why this mask would be $12 per mask as opposed to my less expensive $2 masks.

I did email Tula to let them know my experience and after a few days I got an email back that basically said "Oops, sorry." It's kind of frustrating when a company doesn't take your feedback seriously.

I haven't done a product review in a while, but I felt compelled to share my experience here. Have you tried a Tula mask? Did you have the same issue or was mine just flawed? Let me know down below!

Product Review: I Just Can't Help Falling in Love with Carol's Daughter Body Wash

About a month ago, HSN ran a promotion for new customers. You received $10 off any order and a lot of items had free shipping. So I went on the hunt for something to buy and I found it in a company called Carol's Daughter. I had never heard of them before but HSN had a rather large collection of their items and some were only $9.95.

I chose a bottle of body wash. A girl can never have too many body washes, correct? I typically don't like expensive body washes because I don't get a good lather with them or the smell is weird. I do NOT have that problem with Karité Coco Creamy Body wash that I purchased from HSN. It's amazing. I swear I've never had a body wash exactly like this. It's Paraben free, with no artificial colors,  Petrolatum free and Sulfate free! You can't find such a quality ingredient for this price anywhere else.

It goes on the skin smoothly, washes off cleanly and doesn't leave any residue. I love that scent stays with me for HOURS and that a little bit does go a long way. A 10 oz bottle will easily last me more than a month. You will see that if you read the reviews on their website that people have problems getting a lather, that was not the case with me, but I found once I have poured a little into my loofah is I splash water on it, it lather's super easy. So I believe the reviewers are trying to lather on a dry loofah. The lather I get is full bodied and pretty amazing, I have had no problems with skin irritations because it is clean of all the crud that builds up in your pores.

You may be asking yourself, well....what is Karité? I was too as I had never heard of this particular ingredient. I'm not a huge beauty maven, but I enjoy beauty products so I did a little research into this. Basically, Karité comes from the Vitellaria Tree. It's basically just Shea Butter! From what I gather Karité is the French word for Shea.

I did go to Carol's Daughter website to check out their other products, and it does appear that their focus is on Ethnic skin, and I can definitely see this as being a major product for women of color. I have friends that are constantly concerned about their skin and how dry it is, with this product I've noticed a remarkable difference in my own dry places. So I would definitely recommend this to any woman who is concerned with their skin's moisture level or have patches of dry, itchy skin. It really is quite amazing!

I really want to try that Cactus Rosewater!

What is your favorite surprise beauty product? This is definitely number one on MY list!

Product Review: That's So Cosmo!

I had the privilege to receive a sample of Perfectly Posh's Big Fat Yummy Hand Creme in the scent That's So Cosmo. I LOVED it!

This creme features the scent of "Spicy Mandarin and Jasmine" which did have a very pleasant scent that was not at all overpowering. Warning though: A little bit goes a long way! I had the little packet I received from my good friend and Posh representative, Brandy, who totally hooked me up. I opened the packet and my sister was able to use some and then I did too. I thought we wouldn't have enough but OMG it was thick and luscious, it spread so easily on my skin that I was able to take that small amount and go up to my elbows.

The lotion is chock full of Vitamin E, coconut oil, and aloe vera so the softness of my skin doesn't surprise me...but it does at the same time. How contradictory is that? But really, with all those ingredients you can't help but fall in love with the creme

It dried and set in pretty quickly. There was no oily weird residue and afterward, my skin was so very soft! I did have the pleasant scent last me most of the day as well. This Creme isn't very expensive either, just $9 for the full-size product. I would definitely love to try more scents and was so very happy that Brandy was able to send this to me. It was great! I would highly recommend checking this out, just message Brandy today and try it yourself, you won't be sorry!

Product Review: Brooklyn Botany Moroccan Argan Oil Shampoo

I feel like I haven't done a product review in FOREVER! I purchased this Moroccan Argan Oil Shampoo from Brooklyn Botany and I LOVE IT! It's not like any shampoo I've ever used before. There are definitely some differences and I can tell by the way my hair looks and feels.

After 1 use, my hair has more shine and less frizz!
The major difference in this shampoo as compared to your regular drugstore shampoo is that it contains 100% Argan Oil, Avocado Oil, Jojoba Oil, Camellia Seed Oil, Botanical Keratin, Almond Oil and Coconut Oil. So this shampoo is free of harsh chemicals and stuff you just can't pronounce which is amazing! In a day and time where everything is so overly manufactured Brooklyn Botany as given me something, I am super excited to use.

The scent isn't overpowering, it isn't floral or girly at all. It has a super clean and naturally fragrant scent.

Another difference is this isn't a regular wash and repeat kind of shampoo. You actually lather it up in your hair and LEAVE it there for 2 minutes! It has a restorative formula that helps with dry and damaged hair...which I have! My hair is naturally curly, not color treated, however, it's dry and I have major split ends. Typically, what I experience are pretty bad frizz and dry crunchy hair. After ONE shampoo with Brooklyn Botany's Moroccan Argan Oil shampoo I noticed that my hair was smoother, it was definitely shinier and even the color of my hair looked richer. I would LOVE a conditioner to go with this.

I am going to do another review in a month to see if my hair has improved even more. I do greatly recommend the shampoo.

I have a couple of Brooklyn Botany's products but I am really wanting to try the Blueberry Scrub and the Camellia Wonder Oil! Hopefully, I can find a good deal on that soon. I currently have their Charcoal Mud Mask and also the Anti-Cellulite Massage Oil.

What do you think? Have you YOU used Brooklyn Botany? If so what products have you used and what do you think? Comment below!

If you want to purchase this shampoo it is available online at Amazon for $11.95 and there is currently a $1 off coupon for you to clip as well!! Love Amazon savings! You can also follow Brooklyn Botany on Instagram here.

Product Review: Lapothicell's A.C. Daily Calming Peeling Booster

When I opened the box....

Good morning world!
For my very honest review, 0.8 Liter has sent me Lapothicell's A.C. Daily
Calming Peeling Booster. It took a while to arrive but I was so excited to receive the box...it had been leaking all the way from Korea! So it was a hot mess. I had to clean it up as best I could and a good amount of it had leaked out but there was still a lot in the bottle.

It arrived in a pretty midnight blue box (soaked, but pretty). All the instructions were in Korean but there was a slip of paper in there to tell me how to use the product. But the instructions were kind of hard to read. I can tell someone tried to translate as best they could. So I googled instructions. lol.

Here goes nothing!!
It's the same thing as a toner, this one has AHA and BHA solution. It was 200 ml (6.75 oz) so it was a large bottle! And the liquid itself is thin and clear. It almost looks like water. But you can tell when you open it that it isn't as it has a slightly citrus-y sent to it.

Looks good! Feels nice! I like it!
I absolutely, positively will admit a bit that I was a bit afraid to try it because the instructions weren't in English and I didn't want to do something wrong but all you do is wash your face very well and smooth this over your skin. I washed my face very well (it was 5am in the morning!!) At first it felt kind of tracky but it quickly soaked into my skin. And I was pretty happy with the results. My skin felt pretty soft and there was a brightness to it. After using it a few days, my skin has definitely kept the softness and I've noticed that some of the redness has lifted from across the bridge of my nose.

I have not had any negative skin reactions so I was happy about that of course. It's definitely a bit different then any toner I've ever tried as it's not as harsh. I do recommend giving this a shot! It's lovely.

Product Review: Lumene Moisturizer with SPF = I'm In Love!

My Original Instagram Photo
As a natural red head, I have very fair skin. My skin tone tends to be uneven with some redness on my cheeks and nose. I usually have some rough pages underneath my eyes or on my forehead. So imagine my excitement when I received a very nice large sample of Lumene Valo (Light) Day Moisturizer SPF-15. I absolutely love trying new products and anything that can my skin FEEL better is lovely.

On Thursday I started my new job and I woke up at 4:20am. I took my shower, washed my face and was standing there looking at my face wondering what to use as nothing ever seems to work. When I
Very thick, fragrant cream.
looked over on the counter top there stood this little box I had received earlier in the week of Lumene and the packaging is adorable. So I thought WHY NO? right? I opened it up and pulled the tab off the top and it showed me some gorgeous thick white cream that smelled DIVINE. It smelled like a morning breeze in a citrus garden. I loved it. A little bit goes a long way as I soon learned when I spread wayyyy too much on my face but I cleaned it up and although I was shinier then normal I was still a bit red but that's normal for me. I did notice one very cool thing (at least to me) This product was NOT oily. I've tried some moisturizers that literally melted off my face from my front door to my car, but not this. This was beautifully set into my skin. I absolutely loved it.

Day 1 - Before Product
Day 1 - After Product
The next day I did the same thing. Woke up at 4:20am, showered and used that lovely cream. The redness was fading and I really hadn't taken notice until Saturday came around. But my skin feels like silk and the rough patches are gone. So here I am sitting on day 4 and my skin looks amazing. It's not nearly as red as it was though I still have a few patches and I'm hoping by the time I finish the little tub that my face is smooth and clear.

This product is amazing. I want to try the whole line now. I'm not a skin care product fanatic. I try things and hope for the best but this blew me away. Note: I'm 37 years old. lol. I do have fine lines around my eyes and laugh lines. My skin is changing the older I get. I hope this review helps!
Day 4 - Less Redness,
Silky Skin.
I did receive this as a sample, it was a larger sample than normal at 1.7oz. I was not paid to do this or encouraged in any way actually. The sample page was open for every one and I was able to select the one I wanted. I had expected a tiny little pouch but was surprised to receive the large box instead. So thank you Lumene for providing me with this sample and I seriously hope I'm able to purchase more from you or even pick up another sample. :)
